What we look for in a used Genie

Telehandler side of material handling. GTH rough-terrain units hold value well because rental fleets keep buying them back. Resale demand for this make sits at "high (telehandler)", which is the single biggest brand-level input into your offer.

Capacity off the data plate is the first number we need, then the hour meter, then whether it starts and lifts. On a Genie those three facts put us within a few hundred dollars of a final offer before anyone drives anywhere. Tire type matters next — cushion or pneumatic — followed by mast stage count and free-lift, then any attachment hanging on the carriage.

Common Genie models we handle include GTH-5519, GTH-844, GTH-636, GTH-1056. If yours is not on that list it does not matter; the pricing inputs are the same. Machines with service history are easier for us to place with rebuilders, and that shows up in the offer.

Used Genie forklift values

Below is a capacity-by-capacity range for running Genie units in average (grade B) condition. A machine in excellent shape with low hours can beat the top of these ranges; a non-runner typically lands at 25–45 percent of the low figure.

Selling your Genie: four steps

  1. 01

    You send the basics

Brand, capacity off the data plate, hour meter reading, and whether it runs. Three photos help: full side view, the data plate, and the meter. Call or use the form — either works.

  2. 02

We price it the same day

Capacity, hours and condition set the range. Brand, tire type, mast height and attachments move it inside that range. You get a firm written number, normally within 24 hours.

  3. 03

    You accept, we schedule

Pickup is typically two to seven business days out. We survey access from your photos first so the right truck and loading gear arrive the first time.

  4. 04

Paid on site, we haul it

Cash, certified check or same-day wire before the machine is loaded. Bill of sale is prepared by us. Transport is ours — it never comes off your number.

04Why sell to us

Four reasons owners take our number

01

We are the end buyer

Not a broker taking a percentage and not a dealer wanting a trade-in. We buy with our own money and take title, which is why we can commit to a number the same day.

02

Condition is not a disqualifier

Roughly a third of what we buy will not start. A dead engine lowers the number; it does not zero it out. Mast, carriage, hydraulics, drivetrain and frame steel all carry value.

03

Transport is on us

Quoted numbers already include freight. We bring the gear to load a machine with flat tires, a dead battery, or one parked behind racking.

04

Payment happens at pickup

Before the forklift leaves your property. No consignment, no waiting on resale, no retainage held back.

07FAQ

Genie selling questions

Yes. We buy Genie units that run and units that do not. Demand for Genie cores is high (telehandler), so even a non-running machine carries real component value — mast, carriage, hydraulics, drivetrain and counterweight all resell separately.

The ones that cross our desk constantly are GTH-5519, GTH-844, GTH-636, GTH-1056 and close relatives. That said, model number matters less than capacity, hours and condition — send those three and we can price almost any Genie built since the 1990s.

Telehandler side of material handling. GTH rough-terrain units hold value well because rental fleets keep buying them back. Brand affects the number through parts availability and buyer confidence, not through badge appeal. Genie sits in the mid tier of the used market.

Neither. We buy with our own money and take title ourselves. Brokers list your machine and take a percentage when and if it sells. Dealers want a trade-in against a new purchase. We are the end buyer, which is why we can commit to a number the same day.

Three photos and two numbers. Photos: a full side view, the data plate, and the hour meter. Numbers: the hour reading and the capacity from the plate. Tell us any known faults up front — a disclosed problem is priced in, an undisclosed one gets found at pickup and slows everything down.

Both. Single machines are most of our volume. Fleets get handled as one transaction on one check with one pickup window, and larger groups are worth more per unit because our transport cost per machine falls.

All of them. Toyota, Hyster, Yale, Crown, Raymond, Caterpillar, Clark, Komatsu, Nissan and UniCarriers, Mitsubishi, Linde, Jungheinrich, Doosan, Hyundai, Taylor, Big Joe, Genie and SkyTrak. Brand affects the number but never whether we will buy it — obscure and orphaned brands still have core and steel value.
